This list contains shows whose networks made their cancellation announcements in 2020, even if a show won't air its final season until 2021. Series like the CW's Arrow and Netflix's Fuller House made their respective decisions in 2019.
We're keeping a running tally on all of the TV shows that have been cancelled or announced to be ending in 2020 so far. Some of the latest shows on the chopping block are Amazon's reimagining of the UK cult-favorite series Utopia, and Hulu's live-action Marvel series, Helstrom. When a series is abruptly cancelled before it's able to wrap up its story, it could be for a number of reasons: ratings, budget, casting complications, and behind-the-scenes executive decisions we'll never completely understand.
On the other hand, shows such as Netflix's The Crown and AMC's The Walking Dead have announced in advance when they're ending, allowing both shows to go out on their own terms and hopefully craft a series finale with a satisfying conclusion. In the case of The Walking Dead, the zombie juggernaut will come to an end with a supersized Season 11 consisting of 24 episodes (which will air over the course of two years, concluding in 2022), while The Crown will come to an end after its sixth season (likely to air in late 2022), with Imelda Staunton taking over for Olivia Colman as the final version of Queen Elizabeth in Seasons 5 and 6.
