Feb 2, 2018 · Has anyone recently closed a Post Office Card Account after the death of a relative? I completed the forms and gave ID etc this afternoon, but forgot to ask how long it would take for the balance to be transferred to me.

Jul 17, 2010 · You need to ring them / get a Reference number and that also freezes the account. You can normally get a form at the local PO ..... you need to put the provided Reference on it and provide death certificate and ID for yourself + nominated Bank account for the funds to go into.
