‘The Poison Tree’ is an atmospheric and psychological TV drama based on the popular book of the same name by Erin Kelly. The two 60 minute episodes tell the tale of Karen Clarke (My Anna Buring), who has been waiting twelve long years for the release of her partner Rex (Matthew Goode), from prison.
ITV’s two-part dramatisation tells of Karen, an introverted young mother whose husband Rex returns from a dozen years in the slammer. When Karen and their sprightly daughter collect him on the day of his release, a burly man in a beard is also completing his stretch.
