    The thirty-eighth series of the British version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? began airing from 10 June 2022.

    This series, filmed in February 2022, is the first since Series 34 to have a studio audience, bringing back the Ask the Audience lifeline to replace the second Phone-a-Friend. Furthermore, the first five civilian contestants in the series were the first to fast-track their way into the Hot Seat by winning the new qualification show, Fastest Finger First.

    The first guaranteed sum is still at question 5, worth £1,000. The contestant has an adjustable second safety net after the UK adopted the high-risk format in 2018. The highest possible loss is £499,000, if the player loses the million without setting their second safety net.
