The Mental State (2023) 3.5 out of 5 stars - Imperfect but nevertheless a moving look at the mental health crisis in teens. At times, the display of mental angst seems over the top. There are also times that I felt that the movie was emotionally manipulative. Yet at other times, it felt real and extremely relevant.

The viewpoint is so complete that the viewer sees what Andy sees, and thus the tone of the movie and the feelings projected are also those that come directly from Andy.
