Feb 23, 2018 · I really wanted "The Lodgers" to be as good as its best isolated moments. I love so many tropes that define the film's world, from the town's civil, but scowl-y general store manager to Rachel's favorite willow-tree-lined pond.
The Lodgers is a fascinating film with a lot of great ideas, Charlotte Vega is a standout and the world is unnerving but twists that don’t feel particularly earned and a third act trip stop it from being something truly special.
