Oct 4, 2024 · When the baby becomes ill, Dr. Corey McBain (Fred MacMurray), a child-hating Doctor visits, and Liza has a brilliant plan, if he marries her, allowing her to keep the baby, she will finance him to study pneumonia and rabbits. I hate to say I’m not a fan of Dietrich, but she’s a bit of a surprise in this film, genuinely warm and funny.
Synopsis. Bold, eccentric Broadway performer Elizabeth Madden befuddles her handlers by coming home with a baby she picked up on the street. She wants to keep the baby but has to find a husband to make adoption viable. She offers her new obstetrician Dr. McBain help with his research on rabbits in exchange for marriage - and he accepts.
