   Is the Kitchin a good place to eat in Edinburgh?

   • The Kitchin is named after its chef and owner Tom Kitchin. Because of its excellent on-line reputation as the best restaurant in Edinburgh and possibly in Scotland, we made reservations six weeks ahead of time and even then were only able to get a 9:00PM reservation on a week night. Unfortunately, The Kitchin failed to live up to its reputation.

   Is the Kitchin a good restaurant?

   • Unfortunately, The Kitchin failed to live up to its reputation. The restaurant motto is "From Nature to Plate" and they have a very interesting menu. I ordered the scallops for a first course and a venison special. My wife ordered the razor clams and the halibut.
