So for the past few days I've been trying to get Halo: Combat Evolved (vanilla version) to run on a so-called "modern" PC (Windows 10 v1909). I installed Halo from the original disc and then used the patch 1.0.10 from Bungie to update it. The problem that I faced was that I kept getting Direct3D errors and the game would not launch.
