And I honestly thought the movie wasn't awful. They depicted the Roaring 20's fantastically and you kind of felt that "high" that you feel in the book, both from that push and pull relationship between Gatsby, Daisy and Tom. I thought it was pretty great considering that a lot (most) book to movie adaptations are positively awful.
