A comedy about the relationship between a normal man and a wife who happens to have a paranormal power: newly married couple John Burton (played by John Davidson) and Sally Burton (played by Sally Field), and their misadventures after John discovers that Sally has ESP.
This ability allowed her to read other people's minds. The Girl with Something Extra was a variation on Bewitched in that it derived its comedy from the relationship between a normal man and his wife who happens to have a special power.
Newlyweds John and Sally experience extraordinary friction, as Sally can read John's thoughts about other women.
