Kimble is blackmailed into slaving for a physician obsessed with curing a deadly strain of meningitis prevalent in a remote Mexican province. The fugitive put ashore in Mexico, after fleeing U.S. police, and swapping places with a departing sailor.
Kimble is riding with a man named Hanes who is driving back to his hometown. When Hanes starts a fight, the sheriff arrests them both, as he recognizes Kimble as a wanted man. A troubled youth named Tad plans to help Kimble escape.
