    Teaser - Megan's warning

In a parking garage in Newark, Megan Briscoe exits her car. She goes to the trunk and opens it, revealing Ro Sung Ho. She tells him that she's no pushover. She warns him that if he comes near her family again, her new mission in life will be to end his. She tells him it's not an idle threat, setting a box of chocolates on him. She closes the trunk. She then sits down at a cafe and eats a pizza. She sees a couple of cops with a dog and covers her face with a book, but they pass by. She boards an Imperial Atlantic flight. She notices a couple of flight attendants who seem concerned about something. Whatever it is, however, it isn't her. The flight takes off for Los Angeles.

    Not working alone

Cassie is at the bottom of the Ferris wheel, Grace's blood all over her face. A distorted voice asks her if she's okay. Another asks if she can tell them anything about what happened. Another asks Cassie to come with her. Cassie hears more voices and then is shown crying at a hospital, a bracelet on her wrist. She is in the bathroom, having cleaned off some, but not all, of her face. She goes into her mind palace. "You got blood on your face," comments the mean Cassie. Cassie asks her what she wants. She tells her that she thinks Grace had the right idea, to just get it over with. Cassie asks what's wrong with her and she tells her that she doesn't want to wait around while she blows her life up one little piece at a time. Cassie tells her to shut up, but she says it would be easy. She claps her hands repeatedly, showing her flashes of what happened. Back in the hospital, she gets a text from Megan asking where she is. She stares at the blood, then splashes water on her face. Cassie goes and finds Annie and Max in a waiting room. Annie asks if she's okay and she says that she is. Annie says that the staff wouldn't tell them anything, that they've been watching paint dry. Cassie tells them that both Benjamin and Shane have stab wounds, but that they're going to be fine. Cassie asks why they followed them to the pier, if they're nuts, that Shane told them to stay. Annie asks if Cassie would have stayed home and knitted a sweater. Cassie agrees that she's a hypocrite and the mean Cassie snipes at her that she is indeed a hypocrite. Cassie asks if they're okay and they agree that they are. Dot Karlson comes over. She asks Cassie if she can speak with her, saying that it's important. Cassie tells Annie and Max to stay, that she's sure everything's fine. She gets up and walks with Dot, who tells her "Unfortunately, it's not fine." Cassie quips that it's exactly what she wanted to hear. Dot thanks her for her statement from the scene, saying that they verified that Benjamin was not involved with Grace. She tells Cassie she's sorry she encouraged her to doubt him. She pulls out a file, saying that she shouldn't do it, it's classified. She says that she thinks Cassie should see it, pulling out a photo of two doubles standing together and telling her that Grace was not working alone. Cassie tells Dot that Grace did say it was bigger. Just then, her phone chimes with another message from Megan: "I'M AT THE ADDRESS. NOW WHAT?" Two agents walk up and Dot tells Cassie she wants her to come with all of them. She asks for five minutes and Dot tells her to just be fast. She goes back to Annie and Max, asking them if they still have "that laptop," the one they took from Esteban and Gabrielle Diaz. They agree that they do. Cassie then goes to Shane's hospital room. "Oh my God!" she shouts, seeing him in hospital bed, and he asks that she act like it's not a big deal, so he can continue to believe that as well. "It's just a little scratch, you're such a baby!" she says and he tells her she's overcorrected. She tells him she's still in shock. He says that it's over and that he thought she was crying wolf, but she was right. He tells her to treasure it. She sighs, telling him he loves him, but that she needs a favor. He points to his chest, noting that he's in the middle of the last favor.

    The big realization

Cassie goes to the doorway and ushers in Megan. "Hi, Shane," she tells him, saying that she's sorry he got stabbed. He reaches for his phone, but Cassie shouts at him to not touch it. He tells her that he knew if he stuck with her long enough she'd bring him Megan and there she is. Cassie asks if this means he's been working her the whole time and he shoots back that she can't be offended that he didn't believe her lies. He begs her to hear Megan out, that she has evidence against the North Koreans that could get her and her family into witness protection. "She's our friend," she pleads. Megan tells Shane that she didn't even know what she was doing until it was too late. She tells him she's sorry and sorry that he ran after her, that he had no idea he was CIA. She tells him that Mr. Ro told her there's an entire network. She shows him the laptop, saying it's filled with tons of information. She says she knows it's a hail mary, but she wants to make things right. She tells Shane she's done with running, that she's tired. "Come on," she begs him. Cassie goes into the mind palace, where the mean Cassie is sitting down between two metal bears. She comments that she's going to name them Shane and Megan, that if you push them together, it'll look like they're nuzzling or mauling each other. Cassie tells her she's in the middle of something important. Cassie tells her that if she's trying to make her feel bad again, it's mission accomplished, but she shouldn't mess up the one good deed she's able to do. The mean Cassie tells her that her helping Megan is only to make her feel like she's not completely worthless, which is selfish. She tells her she doesn't deserve to be happy because she makes everyone around her miserable. Back in the real world, Cassie tells Shane that she was so fixated on stopping Grace that she almost got herself killed. She tells him to not be like her, to think about what's on the other side. He turns to Megan, telling her that he would need complete transparency. "She totally knows," agrees Cassie, and Shane waves her goodbye. Back outside in the hospital hallways, Cassie gets a call. It's from her brother Davey's husband, Rick Green. He asks her if it's a bad time and she says that it's a perfect time. He says that Davey has been texting him about how he let him down and can't come home. He says that it sounds like Davey never got on the plane. Cassie agrees that she did get a few weird texts from Davey. She tells him she will track him down. She texts Davey, telling her to call him ASAP. She then joins Dot in a car, on the way to the office to the CIA. She gets another text from Rick, telling her that he's still got nothing from Davey and that he's staying calm, but starting to get worried. Cassie asks Dot if they could go to her place before the office, that a lot has happened and she'd like to take a shower, that there's blood in her hair. Dot tells her that she didn't do anything wrong, but there's still somebody out there who could be a danger to her. She has her take a few deep breaths, saying it's a habit she picked up with nervous junior officers in Iraq. She suggests they head to her place instead, that it's nearby and they're not getting anywhere in the traffic anyway. They arrive at Dot's place, which is very well-appointed, with glass windows with an amazing view of the skyline, everything you would expect from the head officer of a branch of the CIA. Dot leads Cassie up to her bathroom, promising her a tour after she gets cleaned up. Cassie looks at some of Dot's photos, then heads into the bathroom. In the cabinet, she discovers a bottle of Santal 33, the same perfume worn by the double. She has a flashback of a photo of Grace wearing the same uniform that saw Dot wearing in one of the photos, one that appears to have been torn in half, and Grace commenting that she keeps it as a reminder that the only person you can really trust is yourself. She then recalls Shane talking about how there are very few people who have access to her file that could fabricate a psych eval. In her mind palace, she puts the pieces together. "Oh my God, it's Dot," she realizes.
