The most interesting plot line involving the invading soldiers and their human experiments got completely abandoned to the point that there wasn’t even evidence of their presence when the surface world was shown at the end.
I just read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia (spoilers don't bother me) and it seems that the science team is never explained. Why are they kidnapping random people during a nuclear war? And why those particular people? The lack of an explanation would bother me too much to enjoy the movie.

Similar vibes. Dirty, sweaty and very uncomfortable. The entire second half of The Divide is like that to me. And I usually like gore and body horror in films, but there's just someting else in this movie, something deeply disturbing that I can't quite pinpoint.
