The low priced Challenger Deputy (Option Code A93) was a mid-year introduction (March 1970) and continued until the end of 1971 model production. This version of the Challenger was unique in several ways. The car was similar to the base Challenger hardtop with the following exceptions:

It is important note that for both years, you could option up all the way to the 4bbl 383 if you did not want the small slant six. 1970 Deputy production was 4,344. This makes Deputy production just over 5% of total Challenger sales for 1970.
