Demigod files has 2 significant short stories, one focuses on Annabeth, Luke and Thalia when they all met up. It provides backstory details that are nice to know but not necessary to understand anything in main series books. The other is the sword of Hades which focuses on Percy, Nico and Thalia.
Well, you should at least read the Sword of Hades, which is one of the short stories in the Demigod Files. It sets up a very important thing for the Heroes of Olympus. But you might as well read them all, they're pretty fun.
