The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is the world's largest children's museum. It is located at 3000 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana in the United Northwest Area neighborhood of the city. The museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
Solicited additions included a large collection of Indian and other local artifacts (1947), the mummy Wenuhotep, on permanent loan from the University of Chicago (1959), and a mid-19 th century log cabin (1961). Golden also encouraged exhibits and school lending programs.

Founded in 1888 as a literary and social club for women, the Propylaeum (which means “gateway to higher culture”) bought an elegant brick house at 1410 N. Delaware Street to serve as its headquarters in 1923.
