In the United Kingdom, a chief police officer is the most senior police officer in a police force. The chief police officers are the 53 Chief Constables, the Commissioner of the City of London Police and the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police.
In 2021 he was awarded the Queens Police Medal for his services to policing being described as an ‘exemplary operational leader’. He is also the NPCC lead for Police Driving. On 1 September 2021 he was appointed as the Deputy Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police.
