THE BLANCHEVILLE MONSTER is an Italian Gothic horror movie from the early 1960’s that has elements from a number of films. The most prominent ones that I noted were James Whale’s THE OLD DARK HOUSE, 1960’s HOUSE OF USHER, THE PREMATURE BURIAL (just a year before this one) and a touch of Hitchcock’s REBECCA in the dark and ominous housekeeper, Miss Eleonore.
