The Beacon was actually a lovely hotel. It was cleaner than most hotels I have visited. Only complaint is the parking fee. We chose to park our vehicle in the 1615 M Street, NW garage (not far at all). The fee for three days was still less than the Beacon's ONE day fee for parking. Other than that the stay was awesome.
