The movie is about a US search and recovery team who work with a oil platform crew to race against Russian vessels to recover a sunken American submarine in the Caribbean. They discover a new and mysterious species while deep in the ocean.
In January 1994, the U.S. Ohio-class submarine USS Montana has an encounter with an unidentified submerged object that moves at high speed, making detection difficult. Close contact with the strange object disables power and the Montana drifts into some under ocean mountain ridges and sinks near the Cayman Trough.
In the Swedish disaster movie The Abyss, also starring Peter Franzén and Kardo Razzazi, Frigga pushes her work-life balance to the limits as she battles against a crumbling mine while her children’s lives are at stake.
