In Season 2 episode 1, "Problem", Roy is out of contact with Rampart and is forced to make a decision on his own, which endangers the life of a patient. He gets chewed out for it by the patient's regular doctor, and then the patient dies in the hospital.

Season 1 certainly had elements of horror which lent to the plot and drove the action, but that wasn't all it was. The horror, gore, and violence was secondary to the character interactions and struggle for survival against the elements. Infamy goes about this in the complete wrong order.
