Hiatus Kaiyote (/ h aɪ ˈ eɪ t ə s k eɪ ˈ j oʊ t i / hy-AY-təs kay-YOH-tee) is an Australian jazz/funk band formed in Melbourne in 2011, [1] made up of singer/guitarist Nai Palm, bassist Paul Bender, keyboardist Simon Mavin, and drummer Perrin Moss.
Their 2012 debut LP Tawk Tomahawk seamlessly blends earth-shaking soul, hip-hop sensibilities, and the warm flow and glow of smooth jazz into thirty minutes of the most organic music I’ve heard in a long time.
