Book your place via the Brighton Fringe website. Alan’s story. Alan Dart volunteers at Take Shelter! and leads weekly workshops for the visiting school children. Alan is known to the team as the walking Google of WW2, as he has an encyclopedic knowledge or Brighton’s history during the war years.
Take Shelter is an immersive museum that we’ve installed inside an original World War Two air raid shelter at Downs Junior School. Visitors experience what life was like during the war years with first hand stories brought to life with rare local photographs, archive video clips and a bombing simulation.

Furry Friends Rescue is a small all volunteer rescue based out of South Lyon and Brighton, MI areas. We take in cats and dogs from Michigan based shelters and find them forever homes. Our rescue is foster based and our intake of cats and dogs is limited to open foster homes.
