We will be open between 10am – 1pm for shelter tours as well as a chance to explore our WW2 museum, chat to our veterans and browse our Take Shelter gift shop. Tickets are required for tours but all other activities are drop-in. Book your June tickets here.
Take Shelter is an immersive museum that we’ve installed inside an original World War Two air raid shelter at Downs Junior School. Visitors experience what life was like during the war years with first hand stories brought to life with rare local photographs, archive video clips and a bombing simulation.
