Turn right on Liberty St./Herrington Manor Rd. Follow for 5.8 miles and bear right on Swallow Falls Rd. Go left on Maple Glade Rd. and follow to parking and trailhead. There are three falls here: Swallow Falls, Muddy Creek Falls, and Tolliver Falls. All are worth the hike.

Swallow Falls State Park is on the western side of Maryland, bordering West Virginia. It features the highest free-falling waterfall in the state, Muddy Creek Falls, which is 53-feet high. Head to the day-use area to stop for a picnic lunch.
