The Loving Story by writers Nancy Buirski and Susie Ruth Powell is based around Mildred Loving and her husband Richard Loving, a mixed-marriage couple in Virginia. Mildred is half African-American and Cherokee and Richard is White and together they committed miscegenation by marrying each other and living in Caroline County, VA.
