Three-stage Pokémon are Pokémon consisting of three stages and have two evolutions from their unevolved form. All First partner Pokémon used in the mainline games are part of a three-stage evolution, with the exception of Eevee. All Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon also follow this trend.
Most Pokémon families have become three-stage lines through added evolutions or pre-evolutions introduced in later generations, one example being a Pokémon such as Roselia, who was previously not part of an evolution line until the introductions of Budew and Roserade in Generation IV, now making Roselia a three-stage Pokémon starting with Budew.
Generation I PokémonGeneration II PokémonGeneration III PokémonGeneration IV PokémonGeneration V PokémonGeneration VI Pokémon•Generation I currently has the most amount of three-stage evolution lines, with 29.

•Generation IV currently has the least amount of three-stage evolution lines, with 6.
•It is also tied with Generation II for the least three-stage lines upon debut, both having 6 as well.
•From Generation V to Generation VII, no Pokémon have gained an evolution or pre-evolution to make them into a three-stage evolution line.
•In Generation VIII, Pokémon were given new evolutions. However, they are also regional evolutions.

[edit top of page] List of Pokémon by evolutionary line. This is a list of Pokémon by their evolutionary line. That is, it is a list of Pokémon in their National Pokédex order, but it also includes later-released Evolutions and pre-Evolutions closer to the first Pokémon in their line to be released.
It has been suggested that this article be moved to List of Pokémon by breeding attributes. Please discuss whether or not to move it on its talk page. This is a list of Pokémon by their Egg Groups and number of Egg cycles required to hatch without any modifiers.
