Skrowaczewski is currently the Conductor Laureate of the Minnesota Orchestra, Principal Guest Conductor of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie (formerly Saarbrucken Radio Symphony Orchestra) and Principal Conductor of the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo.

Feb 22, 2017 · Obituary: Conductor and composer Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, 93. “Minnesota’s beloved maestro Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, who defected from Communist Poland to lead the Minnesota Orchestra to new heights, died Tuesday at 93,” writes Jenna Ross in Tuesday’s (2/21) Star Tribune (Minneapolis).
Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, composer and conductor, was one of the first donors to the PMC Manuscript Collection. From 1984 to 1991, following 19 years as Music Director of the Minneapolis Orchestra, Skrowaczewski was appointed Principal Conductor of the Hallé Orchestra.
