Joseph W. Clapp founded St. Louis in 1853, when he followed an Indian trail that led to the five-year-old Bethany Lutheran Indian Mission. It was in 1853 that he built the first home in what was to be the City of St. Louis.

Jan 31, 2024 · The Catholic parish in Arnold has a new name – Holy Family. In August 2023, the Immaculate Conception and St. David Catholic parishes were merged to form a single parish as part of the Archdiocese of St. Louis’s “All Things New” initiative, and a new name has been in the works since then.
