Information. The Basilica of Saint Mark welcomes worshippers and visitors. Every day it is open both for prayer and for the opportunity to admire its extraordinary artistic heritage. However, there may be times when for religious reasons visitor access to the Basilica is temporarily suspended.

The Patriarchal Cathedral Basilica of Saint Mark (Italian: Basilica Cattedrale Patriarcale di San Marco), commonly known as St Mark's Basilica (Italian: Basilica di San Marco; Venetian: Baxéłega de San Marco), is the cathedral church of the Patriarchate of Venice; it became the episcopal seat of the Patriarch of Venice in 1807, replacing the earlier cathedral of San Pietro di Castello.
St. Mark’s Basilica is open every day from 9:30 AM to 5:15 PM. On Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation, the Basilica is open to visitors from 2 PM. The museum - Loggia dei Cavalli is open on Sundays from 9:30 AM to 2 PM. The Bell Tower is open daily from 9:30 AM to 9:15 PM. Visitors can enter the Basilica for free for prayer, mass, and services.
