The San Diego Air & Space Museum (SDASM) is an aviation and space exploration museum in San Diego, California. The museum is located in Balboa Park and is housed in the former Ford Building, which is listed on the US National Register of Historic Places. [5]
The new museum, which opened on February 22, 1980, held twenty-five aircraft, including a replica of the Spirit of St. Louis. A large aircraft restoration facility was opened in the facility’s basement; and, with the help of the public, the library & archives collection was reconstituted.

The mainstay of the Air and Space Museum San Diego is its vast collection of aircraft and spacecraft.
