  3. A standalone upload of the long 2002 Sony Pictures Television logo. I certainly prefer this over the shorter version.

    1971, 1975–1977

This logo is simply a television-shaped tube with stripes and a white, simplistically stylized/abstract Torch Lady inside. However, it is unknown whether this showed up on covers for early Super 8mm, U-Matic, Cartrivision, Betamax or VHS releases of Columbia Pictures product or not, or whether this was ever a on-screen logo.

    1982–1983

Again, the on-screen counterpart to this logo was only the 1981 Columbia Pictureslogo with no video indicator whatsoever.

    1992–2001

This print logo debuted in 1992 on tape and disc covers of movies and TV shows on VHS and Laserdisc, In 1993, this replaced the previous print logo.

    2004–present

The SPHE logo was first used as a print logo on November 30, 2004,although the onscreen variant was not introduced on any UMD, DVD or VHS releases until April 5, 2005. The previous CTHE logo was still used on British, Irish and French-Canadian VHS releases, however, until April 2006.

  4. This also appeared on prints of Sony movies offered for free via Comcast On Demand in the mid-2000s, likely because of VHS-based transfers being used. Curiously, while it does appear on side B of the 2000 DVD of All About My Mother, the version on there is matted to 1.66:1, which is still a form of widescreen. April 1-July 22, 1997 []

  5. Surprisingly, on the 1997 VHS of Double Team, as well as a 1 demo VHS of Midnight Express (after the previews) and 1999 reprints of Immortal Beloved and Fools Rush In, both this logo and the 1997 logo appeared.

  7. A good few episodes of Bewitched when aired on the UK satellite channel Living have this logo, often followed by the Sony Pictures Television International logo. The "Hawk S" can be seen at the Paley Center, and the 1966 edition of NFL Game of the Week, which can be found on YouTube.
