Sixfields is an area of Northampton, Northamptonshire, England about 1 mile (1.6 km) west of the town centre along the A4500 St James Road and Weedon Road towards M1 junction 16 about 2 miles (3.2 km) further west. It is close to the Duston, Upton and St James areas of the town.
Sixfields Leisure Park, Nene Park, Northampton, NN5 4EG - 0330 460 5564. The stadium itself is basically on a leisure park, so there aren’t exactly loads of places to head to near to the ground. TGI Friday’s isn’t a bad place, with good food and a pretty standard drinks selection within walking distance of the stadium.

Sep 9, 2021 · Sixfields’ multi-purpose sports stadium first opened in 1994 with Northampton Town playing Barnet in a Division three match on 15th October 1994, resulting in a 1-1 stalemate. The stadium was supposed to be ready at the start of the 1994 – 1995 season but unexpected delays meant that The Cobblers had to play their opening fixtures at their former home, The County Ground.

The club moved to Sixfields Stadium in 1994. It is a modern all-seater stadium with a capacity of 7,653 and award-winning disabled facilities. The stadium plan is simple with the west stand seating 4,000, opposite the smaller 1,000-capacity east stand known as the Alwyn Hargrave stand after the Ex-Borough Councillor who helped the stadium become reality.
