  1. Simon Benjamin Brodkin (born 29 September 1977) is an English comedian, performing both on the stand-up circuit and in comedy television series. He is best known for playing a cheerful chav character called Lee Nelson, but also performs as other comedy characters, such as a Liverpudlian footballer called Jason Bent.

    Steven Goldblatt (real name Simon Brodkin) is a rapper who auditioned for Series 10 of Britain's Got Talent. He was also a comedian who performed under several different comedic character names. He hailed from Camden Town which is in London, England, and was aged forty two at the time of his audition. When asked his day job he claimed to be his father's primary carer, despite previously claiming he were an orphan.

    In his audition he entered the stage dressed as a Rabbi and performed his own original rap song entitled 'Red, White, and Blue.' After he had concluded his performance Amanda remarked 'I think it epitomises this country', with David adding 'Yeah it was wonderful. Quite unexpected.' He advanced onto the following round, however due to being identified as Brodkin by a production assistant he was disqualified.

    In 2006, he performed his first solo comedy show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, entitled Simon Brodkin: Everyone But Himself. His character Lee Nelson also briefly stood as a candidate in the 2013, South Shields by-election. His television works include shorts entitled From Baghdad To Balham, The Morning After Show, Al Murray's Multiple Personality Disorder, comedy The Wall, Lee Nelson's Well Good Show, Comedy Rocks alongside Jason Manford, Heat 3 of Let's Dance for Comic Relief, Another One Bites the Crust, Live at the Apollo.

    Brodkin judged Heat 4 of Let's Dance for Sport Relief in 2012, performed in Heat 3 of the 2013 edition of Let's Dance for Comic Relief where he performed alongside BGT Series 4 Runners-Up Twist and Pulse and made the finals of the show, yet failed to win the show. In December 2013, he appeared on John Bishop's Christmas Show, as well as on Lee Nelson's Well Funny People.

    As a comedian he also did several pranks as characters including Lee Nelson, Jason Bent, and Dr. Bob. In 2012, he performed a prank during a signing at HMV on Oxford Street in London where he "stole" his own DVD and was chased by an actor dressed as a policeman, he was later arrested however though as real policemen believed an actual theft had occurred.

    In March 2013, he performed a prank, wherein he ran onto the pitch at Goodison Park and attempted to warm up with the Manchester City team ahead of their Premier League match against Everton. He was later arrested and charged with pitch encroachment contrary to the Football (Offences) Act 1991. Later in court he had his charge withdrawn by the judge and was instead given a six-month conditional caution for the incident.

    In 2014, he performed another prank where he briefly mixed in with England World Cup squad at Luton Airport, once again being arrested. In November 2014 he invaded a performance of Stereo Kicks' on The X Factor, before being escorted away by the floor manager.

    During Glastonbury 2015, he interrupted a performance by Kanye West, before he was escorted away by security. In July 2015, he gatecrashed a press conference at the headquarters of the football governing body FIFA in Zürich, Switzerland amidst the organisation's corruption scandal, later being led out of the conference by security personnel and arrested.

    In March 2016, he invaded a speech by Volkswagen at the Geneva Motor Show, before being removed by security personnel. In June 2016 he hijacked a speech by Donald Trump, as the latter was re-opening his Trump Turnberry golf resort. In September 2016 he "renamed" Philip Green's £100m super yacht Lionheart to BHS Destroyer.

    In February 2017, Channel 4 created a documentary of his pranks entitled Britain's Greatest Hoaxer. In October 2017, he interrupted the Prime Minister at the time Theresa May's speech to the Conservative Party conference, he had also ensured to maintain the appropriate documents to attend the event, which led to calls to revise security measures.
