(1955-2024) Simon was a novelist and screenwriter. His TV work includes The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, The Mrs Bradley Mysteries and Holby City (all BBC1); several psychological thrillers for ITV; and romantic comedies for US TV, including Perfect Strangers starring Rob Lowe and Anna Friel.
Dec 15, 2017 · In 2013, he was inducted into the National Association of Black Journalists Hall of Fame. Booker is survived by his second wife, Carol, three children and many grandchildren.

May 23, 2022 · Simon Booker To say that I was estranged from my father implies that I’d known him well at some point, and that one of us broke off contact. In reality, I never knew him at all.
Simon lived in London and Deal, Kent. He trained as a facilitator in restorative justice, working with offenders at HMP Brixton, and latterly spent a year as writer in residence at HMP Grendon, coaching serious offenders on novels, poems and life writing.
