Book summaries vs reading. A book summary gives the main thesis and necessary evidence without going into as much detail. Presumably on an ideas-per-hour-invested basis, summaries will win out over full books. You can quickly memorize and recollect the main idea and key points of the book.
However, if you don't enjoy reading summaries and don't have any use for the information, I wouldn't recommend trying to force it. If you want a similar experience, you could try reading comic books, graphic novels, or manga.
