Personally I do like to read the book first before watching the movie. Sometimes the movie is not great, like “After” or “Scorch Trials” (Maze Runner series). But sometimes you get a fantastic book-to-movie adaptation, like “To all the Boys I’ve loved” or especially “Everything, Everything”.
