  2. Mar 13, 2017 · As I've recently returned from the area, I want to contribute some opinion on the recurring question of whether to base a north Wales stay in Llandudno or Conwy. As they are so close, it's a reasonable question. Based on TA feedback, I picked Llandudno, where I spent 4 nights.

  3. It might be a good geographical location as a base, and the pier is well worth a visit, but it isn't really a tourist town so there's far less to do than in Llandudno or Conwy. And the city centre there isn't somewhere I'd want to spend too much time after dark.

Jan 1, 2011 · Llandudno is a good base to visit North Wales, and you mention Conway is well worth visiting being a small pretty town with an excellent castle, the same can be said of Caenerffon further along the coast. Travelling inland Snowdonia isn't far away with betws-y-coed being only 15 miles away.

  8. Sep 22, 2022 · Conwy is a walled town with ruined castle. It retains its medieval street plan within the walls. Llandudno is a Victorian sea side town over looked by the Great Orme. It is a very different atmosphere. Either would work well. You probably have more choice of accommodation in Llandudno.
