  1. Dec 21, 2023 · Napoleon for Battles and multiplayer (battles and campaign) while Empire has a grander campaign size. However, ETW is more laggy for me and has crashing issues.

  2. The main difference between Empire and Napoleon is Napoleon being the superior game overall. It's basically the game that Empire was supposed to be with better graphics, campaign mechanics and battles. So yes if you ask me which one is better, I'd say Napoleon. But Napoleon is not perfect neither.

  3. Jul 7, 2022 · Empire units look very similar for most of the factions while I found Napoleon to have more variety in this aspect. However, Empire has more variety in campaign. I don´t use mods, just stock games.

  4. Napoleon has much better tactical mechanics than Empire though, and Empire's battles tend to be very static. They both have great naval battles. I play Empire solely to get the experience of a world-spanning naval empire needing to defend vital trade nodes and farflung colonies.

  5. Depends what you want out of it. Empire has a larger map, covering three continents that gives campaigns a much grander feel. Napoleon has generally refined mechanics across the board making the game smoother. If you care about a sweeping campaign and building a global empire, go Empire.

  6. Dec 31, 2017 · If you are more into empire building, then Empire is better choice - Napoleon is limited in its scope and some campaigns are more of a race against the clock (like Italian campaign), not so much fun for your world-spanning empire building ambitions.

  8. Napoleon's battles are FAR more polished. The artillery is much more responsive, effective, and all around awesome. The troops, if I remember correctly, have more variation and formations. If you're all about the battles I would VERY MUCH recommend Napoleon.
