- D-backs: Elijah Green, OF, IMG Academy (Fla.) There are those who are already coronating Green as the No. 1 pick, and some who say he would have been the No. 1 pick in this year’s Draft.
- Orioles: Dylan Lesko, RHP, Buford HS (Ga.) The top overall arm in the class thus far, some think Lesko is talented enough to be in 1-1 conversations, though the fact a high school right-hander has never been taken with the top pick hurts his chances.
- Rangers: Jacob Berry, 3B, Louisiana State. After a very strong freshman year at Arizona, where the corner infielder hit .352/.439/.676 with 17 homers and 70 RBIs in 63 games, Berry is heading to LSU, following coach Jay Johnson there.
- Pirates: Jackson Ferris, LHP, IMG Academy (Fla.) Teams will be flocking to see IMG Academy again in 2022 to see Green and Ferris, a projectable 6-foot-4 lefty who is committed to Mississippi.

- Trey Yesavage, RHP, East Carolina. Yesavage is one of the premier collegiate pitchers in this year’s draft class. He pitched exclusively out of the bullpen as a true freshman in 2022 and turned in a 4.50 ERA with 45 strikeouts across 26 innings.
- Matt Ager, RHP, UC Santa Barbara. Ager this spring will be the headliner on an outstanding UCSB pitching staff. Like Yesavage, Ager pitched out of the bullpen full time during his true freshman season.
- Will Turner, OF, South Alabama. Outfielder Will Turner is the top position player of this group. After a solid freshman year in 2022, Turner exploded as a sophomore and hit .349/.460/.591 with 17 doubles, nine home runs and 52 RBIs in 54 games.
- Ryan Forcucci, RHP, UC San Diego. Having Forcucci at No. 4 is both a gut-feel ranking and a projection of what I think he will do this spring. As a freshman, Forcucci earned a spot in the rotation and had a 4.19 ERA with 53 strikeouts to just 15 walks in 53.2 innings.
