Jun 11, 2005 · A top secret experiment on a Japanese military base has an unexpected effect: a squadron of SDF soldiers finds themselves transported back via a time slip to 1549. In their place is a single wounded samurai and topsoil which dates back nearly 500 years.
Both the film and manga are based on Sengoku Jieitai (aka "Time-Slip", "GI Samurai", 1979), an action film which starred Sonny Chiba as the leader of a JGSDF platoon sent back to feudal Japan. The manga series was drawn by manga artist group Ark Performance. The scenario was written by Fukui Harutoshi, based on Ryo Hanmura's novel.
