Chapter 1345 of the Ohio Revised Code, the Consumer Sales Practices Act (CSPA), gives the state attorney general the duty and enforcement authority to prohibit a supplier from committing an unfair, deceptive or unconscionable act or practice in connection with a consumer transaction.

On Sept. 11, 2020, the Attorney General’s Office filed a lawsuit alleging violations of the Consumer Sales Practices Act and Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. The lawsuit seeks a declaratory judgment, a permanent injunction, consumer restitution and civil penalties. The case is pending.
