Title 4, Article 6, Chapter 1, Section 2 of the Indiana Code addresses the office of attorney general:
Qualifications for the office of attorney general are set out in Title 4, Article 6, Chapter 1, Section 3 of the Indiana Code. To be eligible to serve in the office, an individual must be: 1. a resident of Indiana for at least two years prior to the election 2. licensed to practice law in Indiana for at least five years prior to the election
Indiana elects attorneys general in the presidential elections, that is, in leap years (e.g. 2016, 2020, 2024, 2028). The four-year term begins on the second Monday in January following the election.
