The circle of the story is completed by the historical place of Mary Ann McNally as the last survivor of the Gorta Mór. She was the great-grandmother of the author, and is buried in Killeen graveyard.
Séamus McNally is a native of Louisburgh, and grew to manhood between the hills and seas of the Wild Atlantic Way. He had a couple of his plays produced and is a performance poet of his humorous verse.

Seamus McNally, late of London and formerly of Dernaroy, Dromintee, passed away on March 2. Beloved husband of Lucy and loving father of James, Tara and Amanda, and brother of Andy and Kathleen.
McNALLY JAMES (Seamus) . Sadly passed away on 25th February 2021 aged 69 years. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. James’s funeral will be a Private family service at Weston-super-Mare Crematorium.
My first mentor, Gloria Maddox, was a profoundly gifted actor and teacher of improvisation and scene study, often in combination with each other. She was a protégé of Michael Howard, a great teacher who still operates the longest running private acting studio in NYC. Tragically, Gloria passed away from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
