The interesting trope of not showing any of the men's faces keeps the film firmly focused on the women's stories while allowing a glimpse at how several of the characters relate to men. Acting, shooting and script were all excellent and the music was tasteful and well performed and then incorporated into the plot.
Was bleibt, ist allerdings eine wunderbare Freundschaft zwischen fünf Frauen. Es gibt vieles, was an Schöne Frauen ungewöhnlich ist, und so nimmt sich die Tatsache, dass ausgerechnet ein Mann das Buch zu diesem „Frauenfilm“ schrieb und diesen auch inszenierte, beinahe nebensächlich aus, zumal dieses Etikett nur teilweise stimmt.
