New research from Rosa reveals that the women and girls sector is in urgent need of investment and support. In 2021, a total of £4.1 billion worth of grants was awarded to charities, but the women and girls sector received just 1.8% of these.
Rosa is a grant-making charity that funds specialist organisations to help make the UK a fairer, safer place for women and girls. Rosa helps to strengthen specialist women’s organisations so they can meet the needs of the women and girls they work with.
The “Feminist plan” maps the ambitious and transformative policies—on livelihoods, care, and the environment—that are needed to build a more equal and sustainable future. To get there, it calls for context-specific policy pathways, tailored political strategies, and financing.
