The fourth wall falls when Fred enters NBC's Redd Foxx look-alike contest and eagerly anticipates meeting his idol face to face.
With his tax deadline rapidly approaching, Fred suddenly skips an appointment with his accountant. The reason? Fred hopes to win a huge prize by entering a Redd Foxx lookalike contest. And just guess who makes a "guest appearance" as Redd? Also appearing in this classic dual-identity episode is funnyman Jack Carter and old-time vaudevillian Benny Rubin.
Note: Jack Carter appears as Marvin. Dap Sugar Willie appears as Phil Tellman. Debraca Foxx, Redd Foxx's stepdaugther, makes an appearance as Doris Martin a contest judge, and Fritzi Burr makes her final appearance on the series as Miss Rock. Tracee Lyles, Dave Turner makes his 2nd and final appearance on the series as Harrison.
