Salt-N-Pepa (sometimes stylized as Salt 'N' Pepa) is an American hip hop group formed in New York City in 1985, [3] [4] [5] that comprised Salt (Cheryl James), Pepa (Sandra Denton), and DJ Spinderella (Deidra Roper).
One of the original all female rap groups. They won Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at the 1995 Grammys. They took a hiatus from 2002 to 2007.
