Jul 29, 2022 · Considering the scientific part of the film, one can’t help but wonder if Kenneth previously traveled to the past or not. His ad says that he has only done it once before, and even when Darius tells him Belinda is alive, he claims that he saved Belinda by traveling to the past.
She informs Jeff that Belinda is still alive and lives an hour away from where they are. During an interview, Darius learns that Belinda was only friends with Kenneth, and that Kenneth was actually the one who had driven into her then-boyfriend's house, and that nevertheless no one had been injured.
What happened if a group of journalists followed a strange ad hinting at time travel with the weary statement of “Safety Not Guaranteed” printed in the ad? Well, it introduces us to a story that is heartfelt and explores what it means to be different and to dream in an unrelenting world.
At the time, the movie was very fun and moved quickly, and the ending served as a button to send us off into the world. But it felt like a bit of a cop-out: they hit the point where they had to own up to the time machine working or not, they chose for it to work, and ended the film.
